The UNT Natural Dye Garden originated in 2012 with funding from the UNT Office of Sustainability's We Mean Green Fund. Fibers program BFA/MFA students Morgan Kuster, Analise Minjarez, and Abby Sherrill worked with faculty mentor, Lesli Robertson, to ideate and conceptualize a garden focused on the experimental use of natural dyes.
Today, the UNT Natural Dye Garden continues to emphasize the importance of sustainable practice and community engagement through the use of natural dyes. We have collaborated with many artists and organizations, like Make Art with Purpose, Denton County Master Gardeners Association, Big Thought Dallas, and many more.
